Bookings must be made Via Eventbrite here; https://bit.ly/BACPerthBusinessSummit2020 Discover the systems you can use to productively transform your life, your business and the lives of the people you serve About this Event 2020 BUSINESS EVOLUTION SUMMIT - PERTH Discover How To Evolve your business to stay relevant in the hearts and minds of the people you choose to serve Of the 2 million-plus businesses operating in Australia 4 years ago, 2 in 5 no longer exist (39.6%). About 80%of businesses with employees will survive their first year in business. About 70%of businesses with employees will survive their second year in business. About 50%of businesses with employees will survive their fifth year in business. About 30%of businesses will survive their 10th year in business.  WHY? They lost relevance because they didn't evolve. And now, since COVID-19 came on the scene... 63% of small businesses report being negatively impacted by COVID-19 12% say they are considering cutting costs through staff layoffs 41% have experienced a 50% or more decline in revenue in the past 1-2 months 49% report maintaining adequate cash flow as a concern 37% saying working out how long they can remain viable is a major concern 32% report the health of their employees as a concern 21% are concerned about ensuring their staff have work Are you running your businesses in a reactionary way? Are you feeling forced to implement changes because the market demands it in order to survive? Would you like to learn a system to evolve your business so that it is a market leader? Evolution should be the natural state of all businesses. Business is a series of evolutions. What is the next evolution of your business? We are in the most uncertain of times. This is the best time because there is no opportunity in predictability, but there is plenty in uncertainty.  The BUSINESS EVOLUTION SUMMIT is an intense leadership focused one-day event designed specifically for business owners, leaders, and entrepreneurs who recognise the need to evolve themselves so they can evolve their businesses to stay relevant in the hearts and minds of the people they choose to serve.  WHY?  The reason businesses go broke or fade into the sunset is because they continue to grow, but they don't evolve. We can't solve tomorrow's problems with today's thinking. Change is happening at a frightening pace, and if you don't like change, you are going to like irrelevance even less. Businesses risk becoming irrelevant to their customers. They aren't evolving. The four drivers of business evolution are: technology  the market consumer behaviour disruptive newcomers (or pandemics!) These drivers aren't going away anytime soon. This makes the need for evolution mission-critical. Evolution is a process. The world turns fast these days, and in business, we are continually faced with changing landscapes. This presents us with challenges and opportunities to keep our business up to date and relevant. BUSINESS EVOLUTION SUMMIT is designed to remove the frustration and complexity you have ever had in: Alignment of culture and strategy Developing clear goals and expectations Creating a system of accountability Developing leadership strength and depth Developing a consistent sales system If you feel your business has ever had these challenges, then the BUSINESS EVOLUTION SUMMIT is definitely for you! New Economy Builders #1 - Ian McBurney, bhive, Bendigo
11:30 – 12:30
This is the first event in a series of informal online presentations by people from exciting organisations working in the new economy. Our first Zoom conversation is with Ian McBurney from BHive Bendigo. A brief presentation is followed by a Q&A. bHive is a new cooperative for Bendigo, an online platform that will allow local enterprises and people to build, operate and own Bendigo’s sharing economy. Likely enterprises supported by bHive include car sharing, bike sharing, stuff sharing, peer-to-peer energy, skill sharing, time banking, food sharing and peer-to-peer lending. These enterprises will generate income and profits that will be reinvested back into the local economy. World Localisation Day
00:00 – 23:59
World Localization Day is an initiative of hope, set to inspire lasting structural change for the wellbeing of people and planet. Localization? A simple idea with far-reaching potential. Registration required https://bit.ly/KommunitiWLDRegistration  As the hugely popular local food movement has made clear, bringing the economy closer to home has all sorts of benefits. It’s a win-win solution impacting on problem areas as diverse as poverty, climate change, addiction and species extinction. For decades, the localization movement has been emerging at the grassroots on every continent, under the radar of the mainstream media and with virtually no support from the government. People have been reweaving the fabric of place-based economies that are human-scale and human-paced: economies that can serve as cornerstones for community and personal wellbeing. By shortening the link between production and consumption, they have reconnected both to each other and to the Earth. This is the economics of happiness. Localization is about supporting local shops, local farms and local businesses. It’s about keeping money within the community. It’s about investing in the place where you live – financially, emotionally, practically. It’s about building on the resources of the area (both human and natural) and living within ecological limits. It’s about saying no to giant unaccountable corporations. And it’s about pressing for political change: to move taxes, subsidies and regulations away from supporting a few global monopolies towards a multitude of place-based businesses and industries. We are at an unprecedented moment in world history. As COVID-19 stalls the global economic system, there is a widespread recognition that key elements of that system have failed us. There is a collective determination not to fall back into ‘business as usual’, and a realization that rapid, large-scale change is possible. World Localization Day will include an impressive array of individuals from a variety of backgrounds: public figures like Noam Chomsky Annie Lennox Joanna Macy Iain McGilchrist Alice Waters Brian Eno Johann Hari Charles Eisenstein; internationally respected activists like Vandana Shiva Gail Bradbrook Camila Moreno Alnoor Ladha and Bayo Akomolafe; filmmakers, including Damon Gameau - along with economists, mayors and dozens of concerned citizens from every corner of the world. Talks and discussions will be interspersed with music, celebrity endorsements, animations political humour. There will also be a live Q&A/discussion forum and a Global-to-Local Declaration. Crucially, World Localization Day will present participants with concrete steps of engagement: helping to set up community-scale localization hubs; campaigning for strategic shifts in economic policy; and much more. It will be followed up by a week-long online course. We hope you will want to be part of this progressive, inspirational and life-affirming movement for change! Discuss and refine the concept of Basic Income - good ideas aren't born out of thin air, they have to be critiqued and analysed from every angle. 2. Publicise the idea and expand the public discussion - through targeted marketing campaigns and creating educational tools. 3. Campaign politically - confirming where politicians stand, promoting candidates who support it and pushing our own candidates as a last resort. Whether you're a newbie activist or a political pro your participation is needed if a Basic Income is ever going to become a reality. Bring your friends, bring your family, the more people involved in the discussion the better. Events are run monthly so hopefully we will see you at the next one. * Please note...... “National Civil Society Strategy for a New Economy”
12:30 – 13:30
Dr Michelle Maloney  - A short introduction to NENA’s “National Civil Society Strategy for a New Economy” NENA PERTH HUB invites individuals, collectives and organisations to join us and co-create a Civil Society Strategy and Action Plan for the New Economy. Our goal is to map out pathways to create a strong local economy that centres community and ecological needs and acknowledges the Aboriginal peoples of this land as key actors in this process. We hope that by developing a collective strategy and plan we are better placed to support each others’ objectives, build stronger networks and foster transformation and change. We welcome diverse voices who are willing to contribute to nurturing and sustaining a just and inclusive region, polity and economy. We are inviting people from sectors including Indigenous community and other local community organised sectors, health, education, energy, housing, land management, tourism, food production, research, fine and creative arts, banking and finance, production, retail, management and more. Once developed, our local strategy and action plan will feed into the development of the National Civil Society Strategy for a New Economy, being developed by the New Economy Network Australia (NENA). As one of the first regional plans created by NENA, our strategy will set an example that will inspire and assist other regions around Australia to create their own action plans. About the Hub The Perth Hub is a portal to the Sectoral Hubs and at the moment only attended via zoom. In the coming weeks and months, we are hoping to inject the hub into the many communities that make up Perth, rather than be a space that is centrally attended and/or located. From Mandurah to Two Rocks and Beyond..... let's hold space for what we believe is ecologically healthy and how we see a socially just economy. Through collective strategies we aim to build a strong movement of people demanding, creating and benefiting from a local and ‘new’ economy in our region and with the wider NENA network around Australia and the world. Energising the Community Housing Sector
The Platform - Level 3
09:30 – 11:30
Energy options for scaling up energy solutions in the WA Community Housing Sector About this Event CHIA WA & Shelter WA would like to invite you to a Roundtable discussion with BOOMPower and Impact Investment Group on options for scaling-up energy solutions in the WA Community Housing Sector, through the establishment of a third-party entity. Social landlords still struggle to invest in clean energy solutions for community housing, due to the split-incentive between landlords and tenants, where landlords pay for upgrades, but tenants receive the benefits. To overcome this issue, Shelter WA will be hosting a workshop in collaboration with the Community Housing Industry Association WA, BOOMPower Pty Ltd and Impact Investment Group. The workshop will: 1. Build on practical projects and research undertaken with community housing organisations, 2. Explore ways to share the benefits and costs of clean energy solutions with tenants (including solar PV, batteries and energy efficiency products and solutions); and 3. Seek input from the sector on the appetite and potential for scaling-up clean energy solutions in WA. The workshop will include case studies of completed projects in this space, available charging and financing models, and seek feedback on opportunities for the WA sector to implement energy upgrades at a much larger scale than is currently possible. The workshop will be designed to complement the WA Impact Fund launch event, which is occurring the following day - more details to come. NB: This event will be broadcast via ZOOM on the day for regional guests. Details to follow Hosts: Michelle Mackenzie - Shelter WA Alex Houlston - BOOMPower Jeremy Burke - Impact Investment Group (IIG) YOU MUST REGISTER HERE TO BE GUARANTEED ADMISSION http://bit.ly/KommunitiEnergising
