Your neighbourhood. Your community. Your future.
What would your suburb look like if everyone knew their neighbours? Not just to wave at — but to actually lean on, laugh with, and build something together?
That's what Kommuniti HQ is working toward.
We're a profit-for-purpose social business based in Joondalup, Western Australia. Our work is place-based, relationship-first, and built on a simple conviction: real change starts from the inside out. We call our framework Civic Wealth Creation — an approach gaining serious traction across Australia and around the world.
Here's how it works:
1. Community Development — Getting to Know Your Neighbours
The research is clear: knowing your neighbours makes you healthier, happier, and safer. So we create the conditions for it to happen naturally.
Our free community activities include:
- Nextdoor Kommuniti — digitally connect with people on your street
- Kommuniti Café — monthly meet-ups at local coffee shops
- Kommuniti Walking Group — Heart Foundation-endorsed neighbourhood walks
- Edible Gardens Kommuniti — grow, share, and eat together through the Grow It Local network
- Kommuniti Social Outings — communities that play together, stay together
- Workshops & Events — learn what makes communities thrive
Our approach draws on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) — the idea that your community already has what it needs to grow from within. It's championed locally by Peter Kenyon of the Bank of I.D.E.A.S., and explored in the brilliant book The Connected Community by Cormac Russell and John McKnight.
2. Economic Development — A Wellbeing Economy
What if the economy worked for people, instead of the other way around?
That's the question driving the global Wellbeing Economics movement (WEAll) — and it's a question we're asking right here in Joondalup.
Annual subscribers get:
- Training, workshops, and events (up to 50% off list price)

3. Entrepreneurial Development — Community Wealth Building
Some people want to go further. They want to help build something. If that's you — this is your pathway.
Community Wealth Building is available by Expression of Interest, for people ready to be part of a locally-owned, equitable economy where everyday people have a real stake.
What's included:
- Education and mentorship

We're aligned with UN SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and our governance runs on sociocracy — decisions made by consent, not just the loudest voice in the room.
Your community needs you — and you might just need it too.
Warmly,
